One More Move

Claireification: Reincarnated

Yes. Its been brief, but another move. I explain why on the blog (It's a good reason I promise.)
It's going to be evolving over the semester, and the gateway to my portfolio site.

venttting...

i hate it when people make you feel guilty for not hanging out with them. do you think i'd rather go to work than go to the beach/movies/party? no. so unless you want to pay my bills don't give me crap for not doing fun things with you.
this isnt directed at any one in particular, it just seems to be the trend to give people guff when they can't do things. i grew up with guilt trips. i know how they work, but unfortunately, i'm not immune. i still feel like garbage every time someone lays one on me. it's not fair (life's not fair) yes, but people should learn to be considerate.

that's all. be nice.

tenderrrr....

I loved this show as a kid, but now when I watch it when I have to do all nighters like tonight I realize how ridiculously awesome of a cartoon it is. I hope it won some awards during its time.

A tribute to the CLB

The CLB, The 2005 Cougar Lair Babes, which also correlated to our names, Claire, Lindsay, Becky.

I've known Lindsay and Becky since preschool, and for the most part we grew up together, worked on the newspaper together, and traveled to college in Idaho (they to NNU, and I went to BYU-Idaho). They were both back in Turner this weekend to visit their families, and Becky's family threw her a BBQ in celebration of her graduation. Phil and I went down to their pond and the only word I can think of to describe it is.. well.. it was just nice. I took my camera but didn't take any pictures for some reason. But maaaan. Willammette Valley nature is like none other.
It was really good to see them and watch what they've done with their lives. I'm really grateful that I had some really good responsible hard working friends in high school and I've been able to keep in touch with them a bit (Becky more than Lindsay... but still) and this blog is about them, but it also is a reflection on all my good friends I've had and kept over the years. I have some pretty boss friends. They are doing amazing things with their young lives.

The Many Adventures of Phil & Claire: Superfest 2009

I'm not really liking blogger. Adding pictures is an ephing nightmare.

Anyway, this is Phil and my adventure in Portland a couple weeks ago when we went to see YACHT at Superfest; I would've paid the $12 for just YACHT, but no, I tickets were $12 for

YACHT
Copy
Panther
Hedford Vachal
& Guidance Counselor
with DJ E*Rock in between sets.

We could've gone up the next day to see more, but we didn't. I believe they're all Portland based lap-pop techno-rock vinyl-scratching wonder-musicians, but if not, no matter, it was great music. Phil and I ended up sticking around afterward and skulked into the back room/area where the really cool musicians were hanging out so we could figure out if A) E*Rock really was related to E*Vax (also known as Evan Mast of RATATAT) or if that was something I thought up and started telling people. and B) If the video clips before Yacht's set were based off of Mormon ads. We figured out that both A & B were true. Then as we awkwardly ended those inquiries we backed out of the room and hoped that the impression we left was a good one, and not of 2 non-drinking 20 somethings who get a kick of meeting music prodigys so we can blog about it... oh goooooshhhh..
(I really ephing hate blogger's layout tendencies right nowwww...)

After the show we went down the street to eat at Montage. I don't think I have the wit in me to give this restaurant the raving praise it deserves. It's a really classy-urban restaurant with food that can't be found at any no-good-corporate chain*, with a we'll do things how we like to attitude. Anyway... maybe I'll revisit this review later when my vocab is better. Essentially, I ephing love that place.
*Outback Steakhouse has good food... and they happen to employ me... sooo... they are good.

These are all pictures Phil & I took before/during the show.

This was Panther I believe. I shook his hand, he was kind.

E* Rock went to art school. He told me.

This is 2009. Not 1979. Promise.

welcome one and all

I'm finally making the move; a move back to a blog that was originally made before the blog I have been using. It seems to me that blogger is more user friendly and it allows comments. I didn't have the time to personalize my tumblr blog, nor figure out how to allow comments, thus welcome me to you. And AWWAAYYYY WE GO!
